Are you using recycled water in your irrigation system?

Recycled water is commonly low in dissolved oxygen (DO). Increase DO by adding Aquaritin Lakes to your irrigation pond. Water poor in DO will take away oxygen from plants through the root system as well as deplete soil oxygen, both of which are needed for a healthy plant and a heathy soil bacterial flora. Water does this in order to return to a balanced oxygen state. Research has shown that reducing the concentration of DO in the root zone of plants will compromise the plants’ ability to absorb nitrate and water1. Research has also demonstrated that roots are injured by O2 deficiency and that plant metabolism changes during acclimation to low concentrations of O2. Oxygen deprivation in plants is called internal anoxia and one of its results is sucrose degradation whereby the plant goes into an energy-conserving pathway to compensate for the lack of oxygen.

Is someone trying to sell you a Nano bubbler?

Nano bubblers are making their way into the market with benefits such as increased root length and mass, improved stress tolerance and disease, improved soil microflora and better translocation of active ingredients in fungicides, insecticides etc. Compared to nano bubbles by mechanical generated by mechanical means, diatoms produce molecular oxygen through photosynthesis at a fraction of the cost and with no capital expenditure.

The size of oxygen molecules released by diatoms, like other biological organisms, is not in the nano scale but in the molecular scale. Oxygen molecules (O2) have a diameter of approximately 0.3 nanometers (nm), which is about 0.0003 micrometers (µm) or 300 picometers (pm). This size is much smaller than the nano scale, which typically refers to structures or particles ranging from 1 to 100 nanometers in size.

Diatoms release oxygen as O2 molecules during the process of photosynthesis. These oxygen molecules are dissolved in the surrounding water and increase dissolved oxygen. In our experiments when dosing at label rates, it took about 4 weeks for the diatom population to increase from 175,000 cells to 670,000 cells per mL an increase of 84 percent.
